Well, I figured it was time I gave folks an update on my life.
I'm still looking for a job, with no increase in success getting interviews. I'm now living with my Dad and his wife, since I obviously can't afford a place of my own. It's been... interesting so far, though not nearly as bad as I was afraid it would be. It's stressful though, since Dad's moods are no easier to predict now than they were when I was a kid, and you never know what might set him off. Ruth has also displayed a tendency to get upset with me over things that don't even actually happen, like when she decided I was mad at her when I was really just doing laundry, or when I wasn't able to bake cookies with her because I was in the middle of getting dressed and she decided I was refusing to help her get dinner later. Yes, you just read that right.
Mom and I are getting along far better than we ever did when I was living with her, to the point where I actually enjoy getting together with her. We're having a big family BBQ over at her and Kent's place on Sunday, which should be fun. Hopefully, I'll be able to talk to Heather about what she had in mind for my date for her wedding next month... I think she wants to set me up with someone, but I want to know for sure in case I need to invite someone myself. (Especially since, if I'm doing the inviting, it's going to be one of my friends and not a date.)
I got my hair cut yesterday! It's still nice and long for the most part, but the very front is shorter now so that it will curl more after I shower. I love it, and it only cost me $10! Jess and I have also been having True Blood marathons at her house, with our Long Island Iced Teas, which is always fun. Crystal and I are finally going to go see the new Pirates movie (in 2D, thank you very much - I am so sick of all this 3D nonsense) on Friday, which I cannot wait for, AND the girls and I are all going to the beach on Thursday!
I've also been whitening my teeth - I found some Crest Whitening Strips for sensitive teeth on sale a few weeks ago, and had to give them a shot (since the regular ones make my teeth hurt - they're just too sensitive). For the most part, they're working great! My only complaint is that they really just don't cover enough of your teeth, so by now it's starting to look really obvious where the strips cover, and where they don't... I dunno what to do about that.
For over a month now, I've been desperately trying to track down a copy of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the PS2, but I cannot find it anywhere, and it's driving me nuts. I want to play the KotOR games before the new Star Wars MMO (the Old Republic) comes out, but nobody has them! And OMG, I am getting so insanely impatient for TOR! I've even read the TOR books they've released, and can't wait for Revan to come out as well... But at the same time, I don't want them to rush anything - this game has to be AWESOME! In the meantime, I've been playing Dragon Age: Origins. Fun game, but my God is it buggy, and it crashes CONSTANTLY. I'm having fun with the different characters I can make, though - I have a female Dalish elf rogue whom I've partially based on my old tC character Sayuri, and my female elf mage is like Holly from Sareth's rp. I can't decide who my favorite character is though, which means I keep switching between them. I also have a female noble warrior who is totally going to become queen, and ideas for a female elf rogue from the Alienage. I tried playing through the opening for both dwarf character options, but the whole dwarf culture is just too foreign for me - it took a huge amount of effort just to get through their intros, and I don't expect to continue those characters.
My writing has been rather sporadic lately. I miss the ease of writing for an online RPG, when I only have to worry about my own character. I have several fanfics in the works, but none that are ready for an update or first posting. I've been a bit restless in my fandoms lately, which means my focus doesn't last long enough to really get any writing done for the different fics, before I get distracted by a different fandom.
