(no subject)
So yesterday was an awesome day. Crystal and I went to Silver City and picked up our tickets to the midnight showing of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, and I might have done a bit of a dance in my excitement at having the ticket.;) I'm so excited! I've never been to a midnight showing before. I hope we get good seats - we haven't decided just how early we're going to line up yet. I heard people were already lined up by noon to see the last Harry Potter movie, but this isn't Harry Potter, so I'm hoping we don't have to go that early - 12 hours is a really long time to wait in line. As it is, we're definitely going to be eating our dinner at Silver City - it's a good thing they have more than popcorn. I'm thinking New York Fries and a hotdog.^^ I just wish one of us had a laptop that could play DVDs - it would be great if we could pass the time by watching Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Oh well.
After picking up our tickets, we went to check out the swimsuit sales mom's been going on about. They sucked, all the tops being either too short (bikini tops) or really long tankini tops, but we did have a lot of fun making fun of them.^^ There was much giggling, lol. We're going shopping again tomorrow - I hope we have better luck. Then we just kinda wandered around for a while, and each ended up getting a pair of these awesome "it's happy bunny" socks. There a bunnies on them, and little bunny pompom things, and really awesome sayings. I think we might have scared some of the sales people, we were laughing so hard. Mine say, "I love dumb people. It's fun to watch them trip." Crystal's say, "When life gives you lemons, squirt the juice in your enemy's eyes," or something like that. They're the greatest socks ever! There were more, but I think these were the best.^^ Crystal also let me borrow Howl's Moving Castle, which I'm planning on watching today.:D
I also read Daphne Du Maurier's Jamaica Inn, and it was really good, even if I did guess who the real badguy was. Everyone should read it! It's so suspenceful, I couldn't put it down (which resulted in my being up until 3:30am, but hey, I need to get into that kinda sleeping pattern if I'm going to see PotC at midnight!). It's much better than Rebecca, which I read a few years ago - I didn't like the main character. But I did like the main character in this one. Everyone go read it now!
