Bikey Clyro

Wanted to get an earlier start to cycling today, ended up procrastinating even later than before. Probably little harm done thereby, though, since there was a decent amount of light left, it was probably better off being that bit cooler, and because it turned out that I only had about 26k in the legs anyway. Went out the Lee Valley Road, stopped off at the regional park, ate the packet of crisps I'd remembered to bring (and not the banana I hadn't), along Wood Road, then back via Ballincollig. The last stretch, back up the hill from the Straight Road, was a little slow and painful. Combination of previous outing being "still in the muscles", and well, not enough distance in them before that.

Listening to the most recent Biffy album on the outward segment (I draw the line at a "revolutions" pun, though), possibly for just about the first time straight through (I have to confess to typically skipping "Mountains" at least, due to it being a little well-worn by this point). There are some very strong tracks on it -- witness that it's had five decently successful singles from it, and idle speculation is still rolling around about three more as possibilities, without seeming too much of a stretch at all. (My theory is that they're playing "singles chicken" with Florence and the Machine.) Not at all sure it coheres very well as an actual album, though, as compared to their other efforts. Of course, I might just be being the Born-Again Old-Timer, suffering the sort of angst that actual early fans had over Puzzle.
