Barrowloads of Biffy

Perilously close to "part 2" of previous post, but...

Woke up late and groggy today, to the slow realization that there was a Biffy forum ticket presale to panic over.  After a bit of thrashing around trying to find the link, that I'd somehow ignored in the first instance, working out small details like what month and which country I was going to see them in, and hoping to heavens that my last-legs laptop didn't die in the process, booked a ticket for each of their Barras dates.  Double-header!  Let's hope they play loudly enough on the second night to deal with the mid-range hearing loss that'll result from them playing loudly on the first.  Maybe a little excessive, since Da Biff aren't known for changing their sets a whole lot on any given tour.  Unlike BSP, say, who seem to be real showoffs on that score.  But it sorta feels like an economy of scale, of sorts...

Editors in Limerick was booked out very quickly, it seems.  Should have seen that one coming -- someone did mention it was a "tiny" venue.  So it's Dublin, Belfast, or Britain for them, which might be more than I can be bothered with. Options for Bloc Party/Grammatics seem even less promising;  they're not bothering with this damp little island at all, and the portion of the tour that's chronologically close to Biffy's sees them at entirely the wrong end of the country to sensibly take in both at a gulp.  They'd also long-since sold out one of the least-worst such possibilities, Nottingham.  Be a shame if the Grammatics implode before I ever get to see them, which doesn't sound in the least unlikely.

It's not as if I have the slightest clue what I'll be up to in October and November, back in "real life", so using that as the planning horizon for concert-going seems a little harsh on my poor brain.

Token trundle en route to roleplaying (Judge Dee game dodged to Wednesday) up Summerhill North Road Silver Springs Lane.  Had thought to go on a longer cycle, earlier, but assorted digressions put paid to that.  More wheezing and gasping my way, though to be fair it's often a bit like that just going up Wellington Road, and that road is a couple of uphill turns from that, as I was reminded on the way down.
