Letter to Isandare, #2

Oct 09, 2011 01:52

(( Despite the informal speech the handwriting is elegant and flowing, more so than in the last letter and the corners of the envelope and the bottom of the page have been hand decorated with ivy, inked in green. A steaming little tea cup sits in the center of the ivy at the bottom. ))

Dear Mr. Blackwell,

Your letter sounded so much prettier than mine did. I think I used to be good at writing them but I guess that's something you have to keep doing or you forget how to do it well.

I'm sorry my last letter was addressed so informally as well, but I didn't know your last name at the time. And I would have given you mine but I'm afraid I don't have one. I'm just Alaia.

And I am very glad you're not disappointed that I'm not something other than what I am. And I'm very, very glad you got your tea! I'm working on a few new kinds right now. Maybe I could send you some once I have them worked out? I would like your opinion if you wouldn't mind. And it's free tea!

I will send you the recipe for the tea I've already sent as soon as I can. I'm afraid I don't have it with me at the moment and I need to check my amounts just in case. I come up with these things on the spur of the moment and have to write them down so I don't forget them the next time I need to make something. But I've been taking care of a friend and left that particular book behind. At least I'm thinking of new things though!

May I ask you something? You offered to trade something you made for my tea, but I don't know what you do!

And thank you very much for writing me back; it was nice to get mail.

I hope this letter finds you well, sir.

Sincerely,
 Alaia

P.S. How do you feel about vanilla?

mail, tea, alaia, isandare
