Also in the same vain, as I've been reading the Elric series of books again, I think a big oh For Fuck's Sake is in order. The latest rights to the development of this film (2010) have been bought by the production company Depth of Field, which belongs to none other than Chris and Paul Weitz. What's their film history like? American Pie, About a boy & The Golden Compass. Woop-de-F-ing-doo.

A quick SWOOSHING sound follows and two distinct thuds shortly follow

The bonus here is that one of these two will not be directing the movie. The bad news is that at the moment Jude Fucking Law is apparently favourite for playing Elric...
