[She shakes her head.] We had quite a few cats around the palace, and I'd sometimes help Terracotta-san with feeding them.

It'll be so nice to have a kitten in the house. [As if on cue, the kitten gives a quizzical-sounding mew, and Vivi realizes she's kind of stolen her. She gives the pink nose a gentle boop before handing her back to Sanji.]

Aaah, that's right. Cats are revered in your culture, aren't they? [He'd nearly forgotten.

And the newly-named Pumpkin starts scaling up Sanji's shoulder in unabashed fearlessness, once she's back in her owner's arms. The chef snorts softly when her tail smacks his nose]

In that case, feel up for a shopping trip later? Nami-san might not approve if Pumpkin-chan takes a liking to the couches. [Or the beds... or the carpets... This house is not very kitten proof]

Yes; that's right. [She smiles, pleased that he remembered.] Along with the jackal and the falcon, they're considered one of the guardian spirits of Alabasta.

[Vivi giggles as the small kitten's tail pinwheels for balance on her new perch.] Of course! What sort of things are you planning to get?

Toys, dishes... maybe a collar -- O-oi! [Ack. Claws, in reaction to her nearly tumbling off Sanji's shoulder and into the couch. He catches her by the mid-drift and carefully pries her paws off him, but not before laughing again.]

And a climbing post, I'm thinking. [Pumpkin pipes in with a meow, squirming lightly until Sanji relinquishes his hold... and she starts scaling again.]

[Vivi laughs again too, nodding.] Yes, I think she'll appreciate that. I'll bet Franky-san can whip something like that up for her in no time. Maybe with a build-in area for scratching, though we can trim her claws as well, at least while she's this young.

[She's getting even more excited about the idea of having a kitten in the house as they plan, starting to tick off a mental checklist of cat supplies.] Oh, and don't forget you'll need to get a sandbox for her, too.

[If he'd known how helpful Vivi would be with this, he would've taken her to pick out the actual kitten with him, too. Ah Catch 22. In any case, he's grateful for the help now.]

Sandbox? Got it. [He smirks, twisting Pumpkin around again until she's lying on her back in the crook of his arm, first confused by the sudden change in view, and then tiny paws stiffly batting at Sanji's free hand]

We're racking up quite a list. Can you think of anything else?

[Vivi mentally ticks off the things they've listed.] Maybe a bed? Though she may decide she prefers yours.

[She reaches over and rubs Pumpkin's round little tummy, and notices something else, namely the way the kitten's light fur is shedding quite visibly over Sanji's dark suit jacket. She taps his chest to bring it to his attention.] A brush. [She assumes Sanji must already have a lint roller, given the care he takes with his clothes.]

[Sanji does not mind a warm kitten sleeping next to him at night.

The cat hair, however, he could do without. Sigh] Definitely a brush. [He gives the kitten a look while brushing what fur he can off his suit, as if playfully scolding her] I bet even Luffy would notice if your hair was in his meat.
