LJ status shows it has been two weeks since my last entry, it feels far longer. So much had gone on, time to get up to speed. I will attempt to keep it brief. . . Ha ha ha ha
First off, I mentioned that I had met Ted in my last post. Well after talking nearly every day for a week on the phone for hours at a time,(discovering this is amazing in itself as he hates talking by phone!) he decided it was his turn to come see me. So, on Tuesday May 5 he rode up to visit me on his motorcycle. Things went very well. Thursday, he volunteered to help move a bunch of donated office furniture from it's location to my work, and came back the next day to help put it all together. Three trips in total. I got a new desk out of the deal!
We had planned for him to stay through Saturday and then caravan back down to Eva for the gaming session and things there, and that he would stay there. The universe had other plans. He went to take Jade for a spin around the block Thursday of that week and the bike would not start. So after some discussion, we decided, well, that he should move in. So he did.
Understand he is looking for work here in N'ville and it would do him little good to be stuck 2 hours away in Eva, AL with no way to get here for interviews. Plus, things really clicked for us. I am deliriously happy he has decided to stay. No it is not a sex thing. . because we haven't gone there yet. We call it celibately living together while dating. He says it is to really get to know each other on a deeper level without clouding up the issues with sex. We cuddle, kiss and I have teased him into temptation once or twice, but I have been enjoying this time.
So last weekend Ted and I took my Blazer and went back to Eva to collect some of his things and visit with his kids. They are super, daughter, R, age 10, and his son D age 13. I have to say that Sean and Carinn were a little shocked that we hit it off so suddenly and that he was moving out, but they gave us their blessings and best wishes. We went to see his close friend J, on the way home and had Bloat with her, Sean, Carinn, and her daughter (who really just watched Disney movies in the other room). It is the same ceremony i witnessed when I visited. I did not realize it is a weekly ceremony, but I still quite like it. I wish to learn more.
Jade is taking this all very well, and gets along with Ted like he has been here for years. For this I am eternally grateful. Money has been extremely tight so rather than going out, we spent the past week working on re-arranging the house to better fit us all. He even found space in the living room for the two large bookshelves I had stored in the apartment out back. It all just seems to work. Next weekend we are starting on cleaning up and turning the apartment into an art studio for all of us. Very antsy to get that going.
In other news, Tony and I have had a few spats at the office this past week over stupid things. Of course I lost the arguments before they even started as he is my boss. Tony just seems to want to run over his employees at times with his ideas of how things should be, and I don't like being run over, so I stood up for myself. Cathie, the Executive Director understands my position but does not step in to stop Tony, Sigh! This caused some tension, and I lost the ability to use IM at work. I personally think that he is miffed because Ted teased him a bit about not helping with the furniture last week and took it out on me. Oh well. I still love my job and things got better between Tony and I by the end of the week. We are starting new projects at work, very good things, and that seems to have his brain occupied.
The washer went out Wednesday night, flooding the basement. Luckily, not much was damaged as it is unfinished with concrete floor and a drain. All the water was gone in a few hours. Now just need to either fix it or save for a new one.
Friday night I tried to chase off a stray dog from my neighbors yard, He was getting her 2 labs all wound up and the 3 of them were having a bark fest. (animal control is not open 24/7 here) As I was smacking a newspaper on my hand and moving the stray up the road, my toe got caught on a fallen branch in the road that I thought I had cleared. So I fell, and now I have huge scrapes on my right arm and knee. Ted was very sweet, cleaned and bandaged me up, and slept on the couch that night so he would not bang into me and hurt me more.
I missed my Friday gaming too, just could not afford the gas. I have enough to get Jade to school for the next few days then I get paid again. I guess I am not as hard core of a gamer as I used to be, or somethings just take priority. I missed seeing my friends very much and I hope they understand. She is finished with school this Thursday, so that should free up some money. No more driving her clear across N'ville to get her to school. YAY!!.
Well so much for brevity, but that is everything so far. I am happy, I feel content, which is something I have not felt in forever.
Smiles!
