Thanks for a good 15 years.
All gone. The only game that I own now is Y and that is being sold with my 3DS and the save file was wiped last night along with all the others.
The hardest two files (and the ones I left to last) were my Diamond and White 2. Diamond was my oldest existing file, having been started July 27th 2007 and with a game time of 641:45. White had been restarted in December and housed my shiny bird collection along with a few other shinies that I planned to keep at the time. I came very close to just keeping those games and putting them with Blue and Crystal in my sentimental box, but ultimately, I wiped them because I'd gotten my enjoyment from them. Diamond was mainly empty (though with some of my old XD Pokémon dating back to before the game was even released) and had been only used for chaining occasionally for years. While some of the bird shinies had a lot of sentimental value (Shiny Swellow, caught as a Taillow in Ruby back in 2004/2005, Ho-oh was SR'd ten minutes after a random encounter Hippodown in my Diamond and so on), but I'd caught them, trained them, and then they'd just sat in boxes. So it was time for them to go.
The GBA games went with my old SP to a charity shop and the others went to the local exchange store who paid me cash money for them. I could have gotten more for some of them online, but I didn't want the fuss and hassle as I have a lot of other stuff to sell as well. I'm happy with the money they paid me.
Seeing as I do have my stuff to sell, I guess it might be a bit premature to be biding Pokémon farewell, but I am anyway.
It was a fun 15 years. :)
