What if the move doesn't happen? Too good to be true??

Okay, the jobs that Dan applied for close today. The next step will be a writting assignment, and then oral boards. I have been focussing so much on WHEN we move that I didn't even think to consider Dan not getting one of the jobs. I felt a lot of stress last night because of this. I have my heart set on moving that if we don't go, I'm going to ( Read more... )

thank you for good thoughts.

There is a lot that involves rituals. Let me see if I can give you the short version of why some do this...

Ritual is a form of prayer. Rather than clasp my hands together and pray for something to turn out the way I want it, I use ritual to get all my senses involved. I'm sure you've heard that when you worry about something you are feeding into the negitive energies making that worry bigger, or, if you are around a bunch of happy people, their happy energies in the air eventually reach you and you are also happy. Well, ritual is this same way. My plan is this... write up a ritual that will begin to gather the positive energies so that I can put those energies into what I desire. In this case, moving to Palmer. I want to get all my senses involved; sight, smell, touch, taste. So, for this particular event, my sight will be say a picture of Palmer, smell would be the clarifying smell of burning sage, touch would be holding that picture or drawing myself in that picture, and taste, well, that one isn't used as much, but if I wanted to get detailed I could say, find a favorite food that reminds me of Palmer. By getting all the energies gathered in a positive way, I then can project them into a visualization of me being there. Does that make any sense? Its kind of a nutshellish answer, but the long answer could take days *smile*

totally. how did you decide on burning sage as a clarifying smell? is that clarifying to you and reminiscent of palmer, or is that a known property of sage?

i do a lot of meditation in similar ways, but what you are talking about is so much more in depth. how did you learn this?
when you say you 'write up a ritual', do you really write it all down on paper and read it or chant it? is this all done in one big, intense sitting, or do you do this daily or a couple of times a day?

i hope you dont feel bombarded! im totally interested in this. i believe so strongly that we have the power to create our realities and its just nice to hear someone else talk about how they achieve that for themselves.

:O)

Sage is known for clearing out the negitive energies with its smoke, so basically its like taking a dirty canvas and wipping it completely clean again. When I leave on vacation, I purify the outside of my house and all openings such as windows and doors to protect it from harm (break ins and the like).

how did you learn this?
I follow a pagan path, and my teacher, and great friend, is a High Priestess in the faith we follow. She has been teaching me for almost 4 years now.

'write up a ritual', do you really write it all down on paper and read it or chant it?
Yes, I write it all down, kind of like a brain storming. Then perform it. There are different parts to a ritual...beginning, middle, end. The beginning consists of setting up the area to be used, such as cleansing the area, and building the energies. The middle is the meat of the ritual which consists of the different elements which I mentioned earlier involving the senses. Chanting would be done during this part of the ritual, and then there is the end, which consists of thanking the energies for their presence and freeing the area of its focus on my doings.

is this all done in one big, intense sitting, or do you do this daily or a couple of times a day?
When a ritual is done is entirely dependant on what kind of ritual is taking place. For instance, a full moon ritual would be done during the full moon, rituals to banish things (bad habits, bad energies.. etc.) would be done during the waning phase of the moon, and empowerment rituals, and the like, would be done during the waxing phase of the moon. For what I want to do, I would probably want to do this during the waxing phase of the moon, when the moon is growing bigger, building energy. I would want to build positive energy for my husband who has to take the tests for the job in Palmer, as well as build positive energy for visualizing myself in Palmer living there. I would probably perform this ritual every other day during that phase of the moon.

your not bombarding :)
