Yay! Does happy dance for Ichigo's return. Great stuff.

Oddly enough, my favorite line was about the toothpaste. It's so true. Stuck without it for every a little while, and nothing makes you feel new again... well, maybe not nothing...

I thought the toothpaste bit was a nice touch. If you've ever had to go without proper hygiene for a while, you really appreciate it when you get it again!

I am nervous to see how the grief hits. When Unohana mentioned that, my thought, "Oh no! Can't they just enjoy being back together again?" But the wise woman is right - they never did cave, and that was a tremendous pressure put upon our poor boys. But then again, I imagine that a little smexy action could clear that concern right up :)

Yeah, one of the things I like best about the way you've portrayed this relationship is about how healthy it is. They really depend on each other but they don't idealize each other and they don't keep their friends and family out. And they have a ridiculously healthy intimate life. I think real people often forget the importance of that. Okay, granted, their sex life would have sent me in a coma long ago, but then again, I don't possess any reiatsu that I know about, let alone the buckets and buckets that Ichigo is spilling all over the place. Also one of the reasons I like him with Renji - few other people could keep up with that much power - and those that could, well, that just makes me feel creepy... I'll be sorry to see the end of this, even though I'm looking forward to it all the same.

They have their ups and their downs, but when you get right to the heart of the matter, they share love and respect so incredibly profound.

The intimate life... well they're perpetually young. I'm reliving my 20s through them, maybe, heehee! (Plus, it's fanfic, so they gotta have an active sex life. They did without for long stretches in the early chapters, though.)

I agree - Renji is ideally suited to deal with someone as powerful as Ichigo. Most other people would simply burn to a crisp with the kind of power he exudes. Renji is tough enough and strong enough to handle it - and revel in it. ^_^

Endings are always sad, but it's better to end something before it gets out of hand. It's always sad when a story goes on too long... takes away a great deal, IMO.
