Wow.  Big news - I had to check it wasn't April 1st.

If it's true, I think it's a good thing.  The last story arc didn't interest me at all, and even if/when the hidden meaning and importance is made clear in the future (like the Vaizards), I still say it's poor ( Read more... )

Good icon. Love that show. :) What did you think of the second series?

I grew up with Three and Four (yes I know, shut up!), and Four was always my Doctor. Didn't think anything could ever change that, but after only a few episodes Ten's "Doctor-ness" was undeniable - I felt like his entire history was truly there in his character. Because I enjoyed Tennant's run so much, and because it ended on such dramatic, emotional notes, it's that much harder to carry on with what feels like a whole new show (new writers, new actors, new props even!). But there are too many things I still need to know, so I keep watching. Plus I have to give the new crew a fair chance to settle into their roles. :) Change is part of the show, and so far I've enjoyed the comings and goings of the various Doctors and companions. I think I need a TARDIS icon...

Avengers... ehh not so much. I'm a Marvel girl, it's true, but I never could get into that team. For that matter, just last week I cancelled all my X-Men titles. The stories were just not engaging, and the title spread was once again ridiculous.

Apart from a few really minor nitpicks, Sherlock can do no wrong IMHO. I love it so much, and I just have a lot of feels about it because to me it's as close to perfection that television ever gets.

I still haven't got up the courage to go back and watch old!who, I dunno why, so my Doctors have all been Nine and up. I got that feeling to, about it feeling like whole new show when it went from Ten to Eleven and I still sometimes sit there and miss Ten and the old TARDIS console, but I get over it. And there are some really awesome things in S5 and S6 that I can't tell you about.

Also, totally the opposite to you; I love my Avengers but I never really got into the X-men.

Aw man, I used to love old Who. I'm feeling all nostalgic after watching the new series, so at some point I might have to go dig up what I can of the classic eps. :)

I enjoyed the stories in s5 (watched s5 ending last night), and it was exciting and dramatic without being so heavy as some of the previous series endings, which was nice. Specials tonight, and series 6 next week!
