A Better Tomorrow

After living through one of THE most tiring weekends ever(check the Xanga for details), I look upon my schedule for next week, and realize...holy shit.....there's only ONE week to finals! mother fucker......oh well.
Since the title of my journal is martial musings, I suppose I should TRY to talk a little more about martial arts. Well, I actually managed to get to practice today, which is always a great experience. However, what's not so great is realizing how out of shape I am. I used to have a great regimen of exercises i did before I went to sleep....60-80 pushups(w/variations), 200-250 situps, and then stretching, but some reason I stopped it when I got to college. Consequently, I've turned from portly but still roughly in some semblance of shape, to...well....just plain out of shape. A combination of the College eating schedule, and the complete lack of exercise rather than the previous "hard exercise+lots of eating=keeping the weight down" has led to my Sammo Hunginess. I think i'm gonna start my regimen again, and adding some gym time, I hope to be "fighting fit" again. The good news is, my actual martial skill hasn't deteriorated. For those of you that don't know, I try to do Jeet Kune Do(which is basically an amalgamation of arts that results in a form of kickboxing). My kicks are getting better(even stronger than they were before), and my skill in boxing has gotten better...I can pull off some pretty solid combinations even, without breaking my hands on the damn heavy bag. Now if I could just find a good grappling partner, i would be in martial heaven.
