long last few weeks.
came back from idaho awhile ago now. worked a lot. registered for classes late and sitll haven't payed for them yet.
played a couple gigs with my band in isla vista. both shows were rocking, and both were different from the other in that we had different people not able to play or covering or whathaveyou.
last gig, this last saturday, was interesting because the drummer couldn't make it. so we had a DJ tag along and craft some beats out of what we recorded.. the crowd was so into it we couldn't move much, they were crowding us into our amps and speakers. so i was jumping into the crowd forcing people to sing along and being a weird stage-greedy attentionmonger, scowling and grinning.
the gig before we had more room to play (barely) and we rocked the show. we played for about an hour and ten minutes or so, which was about twice what we played last saturday. the first IV show (this one) was only us, though; last show we were one of six acts.
some guy was pissed at my i airplane ny t-shirt and started to get aggro at me about it. so i calmed him down, and he started to act cocky at us in the middle of a song. i gave him the bird, and he aggroed on me some more. he was all pissy and about six inches from my face. looking to the crowd, i decided that they should act for me.
"how are we doing?," i asked.
the crowd screamed some unintelligible thing.
"do you want us to play another?"
they screamed "yeah!"
"then someone get this asshole out of my face!"
four guys came out of nowhere and peeled him away, never saw him again. was cool.
fun stuff. i guess we're playing again at some point later this month. i'll keep you posted.
