I'm not even gonna bother lj-cuting this because it's so damn short, and entirely not offensive to anyone who isn't offended by omg teh lesbians! (which if you are on my flist, clearly you aren't!) Any mistakes are entirely mine and it's 3:32am and I probably spent a total of 15mins writing this, so bite me. (but do point them out! lol!)

The sun woke her early. She had never liked mornings before. Not until Casey had moved in with her. Now she cherished the few moments she got every morning to study her girlfriend. She always looked peaceful, content. The concentration lines on her forehead that were there every night had always smoothed out by the morning. She brushed a stray lock of red hair from her lovers face and smiled at the nose twitching in response. “Good morning beautiful,” she whispered softly, knowing she wouldn’t be heard.

A few minutes later, Casey began to stir. Olivia smiled as a lazy arm reached for her, instinctively knowing she was awake. She allowed herself to be pulled down for a kiss, soft lips meeting her own, parting slightly. Breaking the kiss, Olivia leaned back into the pillow, turning her body so she was able to watch Casey go through her morning wake-up ritual. Eventually, her eyes begrudgingly opened, and she rolled over as well, their faces now inches apart. “Hey you,” Olivia smiled as she planted a kiss on the redheads cheek.

“Hey yourself,” came the reply, followed by a sleepy smile.

Casey always got up first. She took longer to get ready in the morning, so Olivia would spend an extra fifteen minutes in bed watching her before getting up herself. This morning, as she watched her girlfriend standing in front of the wardrobe in a black skirt and bra trying to pick a shirt, she realised that this was it. She was happy, and it couldn’t get any better. “Case?”

“mhmm?”

“Come here for a sec?” She sat up in the bed and hung one leg over the edge so the redhead could sit between them. She knew Casey was early getting ready today, so she wouldn’t mind the intrusion into her morning ritual.

“What’s up Liv?” Casey asked.

Olivia regarded her for a moment longer, then smiled softly. “Marry me?”

She watched as several emotions seemed to fight to win a place on Casey’s face as the younger woman was struck dumb for several seconds. “Marry you?” she finally managed to say, as if needing to confirm she’d heard right.

“Yeah, marry me,” she repeated in the same soft tone.

“Absolutely!” Casey’s face broke out into a grin and she pressed forward, cupping her cheek. The kiss they shared was soul searching and tender, much like the long road to this moment had been.
