Today was the first day of work at Sycamore Camp and once again Aimee and I have managed to beat the system. This is the second year in a row we've managed to do this so I have a feeling they may have just put us together on purpose (We made a request last year but didn't this year). We both have second grade girls and of course have the same exact schedule. (It's not usual that a grade needs two groups) It was sort of strange that we didn't have our normal girls that we've had for years but we really couldn't do it again. It sort of felt a little like betrayal but I got over it once I realized Maya wasn't coming back this year. Maya was our buddy.
The day was okay. We have all new leaders so some were freaking out while others were just chillin'. The cafeteria was also taken away from us, which we learned today, because of construction. That leaves us with the two gyms, the hallway, and a classroom for Arts and Crafts. It's a bit crowded but I assume it will all be fine.
The kids seem wonderful and extremely well behaved. They all ask permission to go to a garbage can three feet away. It's really nice compared to what I dealt with this year. My C.I.T. is named Brittany and she's really good with the kids. Paige, Aimee's C.I.T., is really good with them also and happens to be friends with Brittany. It all works out in the end.
