In the eve of what will be the Wank To End All Wank, and in the wake of classic CLAMP wankage...thank god no one reads my journal. (But just in case: It's CRACK people, say after me "craaaaaack". I'd rather not be lynched.)
So I was reading the wiki pages for HP 1-6 to refresh myself on events. (Hey, I'm not a hardcore HP fan or even in the fandom at all. Add in WoW and there's no way I'm going to make time to re-read all 6 books before the 7th is released.)
Having it summarized like that made me realize something, which has surely been observed before by someone but not being in HP fandom I haven't seen it:
If Harry Potter was a CLAMP work and the events were translated into CLAMPanese, Harry and Voldemort would be the ultimate OTP. I shit you not.
Evidence A:
People ship Kamui/Fuuma and defended that ship mightly in its day (to this day?) I didn't get much into X as I came late to that party, but as I understand it once Kamui decided on a side there's no way Kamui and Fuuma can co-exist peacefully (if not a required death of one of them.) Eventually either Harry or Voldemort has to go. Seems to me if K/F is shipped so heavily and H/V share so many similarities, the main thing stopping the love is the squick factor. And we all know Voldy'd get all prettied up and bishie under CLAMP's pen anyway.
Evidence B:
At the end of HP 4 Voldemort takes Harry's blood into him. Sure, it's to kick the living shit out of him and abolish his existance, and not saving his life like Doumeki did for Watanuki. But technicalities shmecticalities. If Seishirou/Subaru can be shipped so passionately I don't think attempted murder counts as a deterrent.
Evidence C (otherwise known as the "zomg, it's not boys' love!" evidence):
Syaoran is going around collecting feathers (memories and pieces of power, arguably lifeforce blah blah blah) to basically put Sakura back together. In HP 6 Harry sets out to collect and destroy the split pieces of Voldemort's soul in order to defeat him. (See S/S point re: the destroyage.) Hmmmm....
So yes. As far as I'm concerned, all there'd need to be is an eye transfer and it's golden. (Diamonds may be expensive, but nothing says love like permanent bodily damage and organ exchange.)
