Part 2 of my Canadian Music Spam (aka shit we should have put in the Olympics instead of Nickelback).

Part 1 was distributed on Tumblr ( Metric, STARS, Feist, Mother Mother, Cadence Weapon, Arcade Fire)

"Lonely End of the Rink" - Tragically Hip
Think of the Hip, Think of Canada. To think of Canadian music, you think of the Tragically Hip. They are so embedded in our music, our cultural identity, I'm kind of ashamed to omit them earlier. This is one of my favourites from them.

"Shelter" - Bedouin Soundclash
This Kingston trio is better known for "When the Night Feels My Song" (but I hate that one). Reggae Rock with some strong bass beats.

"Alligator" - Tegan & Sara
Honestly, I love them (and they're Albertan!). They've got this squacky quality that sounds terrible when you describe it, but is really just fantastic. I feel this is pretty pop, and that's just fantastic. You should probably know they're twins and you are not seeing double.

"7/4 Shoreline" - Broken Social Scene
Broken Social Scene has over 20 members. No, really. Instead of doing it like Urban music and saying "Featuring this and that cool kid" they just include them in the group. So if this lady looks familiar, that's because it's Feist. So yeah, want some pretty rad Canadian indie from Toronto? Look up Broken Social Scene and all the related acts. Emily Haines, Amy Milan, K-Os and more abound!

"End Love" - OK GO
Pop, meloncholy, 80s, and good videos. You might recognize the guys from the more famous "Here We Go Again" where they dance on treadmills. (I should listen to these guys more)

"4 3 2 1" - K-Os
Okay, he WAS at the Olympics. The only one I actually liked, and the only one to play live.

"Nature of the Experiment" - Tokyo Police Club
It's science-y, beautiful, and synthed up.
