Okay, I actually finished this early yesterday but wasn't really in the mindset to do a review of this season. Good thing it's only 16 episodes, though. I really don't have the brain power to do a good recap.
WOMEN! We got a double dose of femme fatales here. First Ruby, the anti-demon demon who's saucy as heck and likes to help the boys (okay, really Sam). Next is Bela, a snotty British hunter/seller who's very, very cheap. I kinda liked how the boys are interacting more and finding not everyone is "OH HAY, YUR JOHN'S KIDS. HAVE A BEER." Bela just pisses them off, and Ruby is a mean pusher. Nice to change the dynamic.
Uh, main plot? Fight LOTS of demons. And this Lilith girl wants to kill Sam and be the GRAND RULER of demons. Pretty good, but pretty rushed. Oh, and Dean's going to hell. It started out fun, but just go SO ANGSTY after-wards. I think this season is probably the most angsty out of the bunch. And it's the shortest.
Episode I skipped because I was done with the angst: "Dream a Little Dream of Me"
Seriously, I was getting antsy and irritated with all the angst, so I skipped this one. A poor idea because apparently Bela stole The Colt here and Dean finally got spooked about hell. OH WELL.
Funniest: "Bad Day at Black Rock"
Some serious contenders here. "Mystery Spot" and "Ghostfacers" were pretty funneh, but Sam's adorable "I lost my shoe" nailed it for me.
Spookiest: ??
Nothing downright "I peed myself" spooky, but Lilith posessing a little girl and Doc Benson cutting people up were definitely creepy.
Reminds me of Torchwood: "Long Distance Call"
Oooh. Phone calls. From ancient numbers. "Dead Line" anyone? Still, this one managed to be quite different from the Torchwood audio play. Pretty good episode, too.
Okay, this has got to be one of my shoddiest entries for NaBloPoMo yet.
