I love y'all. No, really. Things are picking up again here, so I'll be floating around commenting a little more.
I'm excited I've renewed my paid account for another year (YEAH!) and apparently
darthphere is blogging again. Hey, would you look at that! So is
poiyo! I've also made a couple new friends,
theanswer42 and
faydako. The latter is a great icon artist and the former seems to know more about BBC dramas than me, which is just FANtastic!
I also had a remarkably decent week. I had a site visit to a military testing range (that's right, bitches, I heard the sonic BOOM-DE-BOOMs) and watched a couple of really good movies this weekend - UP and Angels & Demons. Okay, I give. Angels and Demons was only good because I oogled at Ewan McGreggor the ENTIRE time. SRSLY the guy had the sexiest suit/cloak/cape thingy EVER.
On the comics side of things, Steve Rogers is back (
darthphere has a really good commentary and analysis of the situation). Also Heroes Con was this weekend so Newsarama has loads of articles about what went down.
Speaking of Comic Cons, SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) apparently has DAVID TEN INCH TENNANT attending. The Doctor. HE NEVER goes to conventions (likely because of the fangirls of his contract) and he's finally here. Whovians, be prepared. Never mind the children, the Fangirls are coming.
OH GOOD NEWS! Merlin started on NBC last night. And The CBC started season 4 of Doctor Who. And tomorrow, SPACE will start the first season of Torchwood. YAY. Actually, DOUBLE YAY because apparently Torchwood series/season 3 (aka Children of Earth, aka CoE) will air in Canada in July.
And on July 1st it's CANADA DAY. I'm thinking of being a little non-patriotic and state the (small) list of things that make me embarrassed to be Canadian (the majority of the list is actually about Alberta). Just because I'm so patriotic most of the year. Or I could sleep. Working for the gov't means I get that day off, and I usually sleep on days off.
In the mean time, I'll be watching
Design e2. I love this series. As a city-slicker, engineer, promoter of sustainability and socialist, this series hits all the right buttons. Not to mention Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt narrate. It's actually because of this series I discovered HVAC and Building Services Engineering (or is it MEP?) and I'm now hellbent on becoming one. So yeah, I chose my profession because I saw it on PBS. :P I'll also start listing to more radio plays from the BBC and podcasts from the CBC. That way I can do more work. Lately I've been watching TV shows (aka Merlin, Torchwood and Doctor Who) or talk shows (Jonathan Ross, Graham Norton, Friday/Sunday Night Project). Those tend to require more attention.
