Yeah, I just tried to sing "Work the Wronskian" to "Rock the Casbah". Too many syllables to sound right. Meh.
Today was chock full of good news and fun stuffs. All because I skipped stats. Terrible to skip, yes, but it stats. Also, the amount of good things that happened in those 90 minutes was ridiculous. Makes me think I should avoid it more.
First I had a job interview to work in for Earth-Tech in the hazardouls waste facility in Swan Hills (they deal with the major baddies, like PVBs and ozone depleters) that I was just informed of yesterday. I snagged my sister's cardigan and bounced to the interview thinking "show your positive engergy!" Why? Becasue I was still in DiscoverE-mode and eager to be a bouncing, bubbly sleep-deprived zombie. It was pretty good and the company was great. Paid housing (it's three hour drive from the city, so I'll need a flat) and I work 4 days a week to get 3 day weekends.
Second, I get a call from the director of DiscoverE telling me that working for half the time does count toward my coop. I just have to talk to the director of Coop. Also, I was asked to explain how an 8 cylinder engine works. I unfortunately don't have any clue and I'm busy.
BONUS: I mangaed to to meet up with over half of us gals from the GEM club today.
DOUBLE BONUS: We're in the
news! I personally love their spiffy shirts. We made them! :D
Third, I was invited for another job interview. This time working in a labyrinth NINT, the Nano-oriented research facility on campus. To recap, I just went from zero job opportunities for the summer/fall to three over lunch.
.
..
AND THEN I GOT A PHONE CALL.
Ends up I was impressive and passionate so Earth-Tech offered me the job. *fistpumps* I'm all for it. I get to live away from home (not too long, though), which is a first, it's paid for and I get a super cool job. However, I don't have my full license or a car, so driving to work would be a problem. I think I'll take the job if I can figure out the logistics. ^.^
So that's my spiffy day in a bland streak of meh.
Listen to
"Death to Death" by Stars. It's so ridiculously good. Why? A touch of snark, really strong vocals from Torque, it's got that edgier, dancier vibe than usual, and I can imagine Amy Milan as
Death singing "I am destroyer, I am lover..."
