Five Things #1

Mar 25, 2007 15:50

I decided that from now on, I will be writing about five things that I found out (or realized), have known way back (and only remembered now) or something that made me curious. The list can also include things that happened during the week that has caught my attention.
These things will be about anything: from Pinoy barangay chismis to global world issues.

I will try to do this exercise every week. I encourage everyone to comment on what they feel or think about the things that I wrote.:) if you can share something about these things, then the better!

--------------------------------
Let's start (in random order):

1. There's a Philippine Next Top Model aired on RPN 9, every Tuesday at 830pm and hosted by Ruffa Gutierrez. Episode 1 was aired last March 13. Get the profiles of the model from the PNTM website

2. On Ping Lacson's podcast, he said he gets the songs for his Ipod from Limewire.

3. Our Senate structure is actually primarily based from the US Senate structure. We have 24 senators because when Congress (vocab check: Congress means House + Senate) started, the Philippines has only twelve (12) regions, therefore they need to elect two senators per region -- same as two senators per state in US. Therefore Quezon was addressed as the "gentleman from Tayabas" or Osmena was addressed as "the gentleman from Cebu" because they were voted and came from those regions.
As the number of regions in the Philippines increased, the number of Senators stayed the same and they were selected from regional to national elections.

4. There's a Pasig River Ferry Service already. "The MV Pasig River I and II, the twin-hulled vessels currently in use, can each carry up to 150 passengers on air-conditioned, glass-enclosed decks. Life vests are visible under the seats, lavatories are found at the rear, and open-air viewing sections are open to passengers at both ends of the boat"
For only P25 you can have a good view of the Pasig City riverbank (inc. Malacanang) from Guadalupe to Escolta. Read more here.

5. It costs P 0.70 to create a 25-cent coin. So don't throw those coins away.

--------------------------------

Tell me what you think about these. :)
Haha, I guess these scoops are not bad for someone who's in the US.:p
