I went to that link and man, that is one sweet guitar! How did I miss this brand? I thought I was the biggest guitar geek on the planet and that nothing slipped passed me! Some really nice features on that particular model. The Rosewood on the back and sides will give you and incredible bass response. I also like the fact that they use a thinner finish, since that gives you more volume. The compact headstock is really cool as well. And the zero fret is something I have always liked. BTW, a zero fret is usually only found on very high-end guitars. I can't wait to hear/see this thing!
And man, don't feel bad about playing that old Guild. Guitars are meant to be played, not stashed in a closet somewhere because you're afraid of scratching it up or ruining its value. You need to be careful with it, but it's meant to be played. Some people feel differently about this, but this has always been my take on it. I've always looked at it like, "hey, I won't be here forever, so I'm going to play them while I'm here..."
