When the SCH showed it's ugly head I found a board on babycenter.com of women who were going/had gone through the same thing. This board was extremely helpful and helped answer so many question I had, without me even having to ask them. It gave me so much hope and courage to face this thing, especially considering most doctors don't know much about it, ad kinda just shrug you off saying "Well, you'll either miscarry or you wont. Go home and sit and we'll find out." On a regular basis there were women would would post that their SCH had resolved, or they had delivered their babies and everything was fine. I can't express how much hope this gave me. And when I had a weird symptom and thought it meant I was miscarrying, I went on the board and found out that most women had this same symptom just before their SCH's resolved. In contrast, when I had called my doctor's about it they got me all worked up and worried that my water had broke. Two weeks later, my SCH was GONE. I am so thankful for this group.
When the SCH started calming down I looked for another board on there, and found one for women who are expecting in Feb 2011. This board has been soooooo informative for me. There are first time moms and experienced mothers as well. The board has about 6,000 members, so as you can imagine there's always someone talking about something, and most of the time it's something I either didn't know, or didn't think to ask. Those of you who know me well, know I
LOVE to be informed, and make informed decisions, and with my friends having had babies 10+ years ago, and knowing no one who's pregnant now, there's a limit on the information those around me have to offer. Sure there's occasional drama, but not as much as you would expect from hormonal women who sometimes talk about controversial subjects. Or maybe I'm just lucky with my group. Either way I count myself blessed to have this board, and heck, the internet in general, to help me find my way through the questions in my head.
blessings,
