Rita's been upgraded to a Category 5, and Baylor has cancelled Friday's classes. It's very surreal, people I know from the Houston area are evacuating. Meanwhile, I'm leaving for Boston for my cousin's baby shower tomorrow morning. So, I'll be missing the hurricane completely - unless for some reason, it shuts down airports on Sunday, which leaves me stuck in Boston (not an altogether unpleasant option) until they open. But for all intents and purposes, the storming should be done by then. Weather's a funny thing, though, so I guess it never hurts to be prepared for the worst. For those of you not in Texas, and may have very little concept of Texas geography, some diagrams.

Where Waco is:
There are evacuating the Gulf Coast towns (all of Galveston) and low-lying parts of Houston. But Waco should just be getting some bad storming. Not that I'll be here, at any rate.
