i usually refrain from upping very old posts but today this one from january of 2011 drew an anonymous comment i have yet to be able to verify- and i tried all afternoon

first, i want to thank you for taking the time to tell me about his death. it's important- your daughter was important. some of us have never forgotten nor have we forgiven what happend to your precious daughter in our community. she was a guest- she deserved our hospitality and respect . she deserved to be protected from scum like rosario whom we both know should never have been free. his parole should have been revoked.
i scoured the news for any mention of his death- nothing except a cached copy of the obituary which, really- there's no place for it in the public forum- to mourn for this monster. it was like pulling teeth to get the MA department of corrections to confirm he died- which they finally did on the phone to me around the time you posted this message ( i was not signed up for CORI so i guess unless one makes a point of calling and asking, the state of massachusetts feels no compunctions about not informing the community of the whereabouts, dead or alive, of convicted serial rapists and murderers.).
why they feel they need to protect a prisoner and criminal- a dead one at that- more than they ever felt the need to protect women from him while he was free and alive...it infuriates me.
all of this pains me- that you lost you daughter, the circumstances of the malfeasance of the parole board that allowed this to come to pass, that she was our guest in a community and state with such strong and long sustained connections with ireland. my grief at orla's death, in no way compatible with your own which i can in no way imagine, is mixed with shame that she was murdered in my community where she had every reason to expect to be shielded from such a dangerous deviant. that the state of MA enabled this malicious evil creature to live let alone be free on the streets haunts me- there's no way to adequately express my sorrow to you for this. it should never have been.
