More Lameness...
I'm going around LJ and checking out some news. And once again more WTF ARE YOU SRS? ensues. I'm sure every party who will be reading this already knew Gackt went on a mini tour last year (I believe) in Europe. When asked about his plans for this year here is a (rough translation) of what he said:
"Right now, I'm in the middle of a play, and I'll be performing Nemuri Kyoshiro until the end of February. As soon as that ends, I want to live a lifestyle absorbed in music. This year I want to go all around Europe and do a Europe tour properly from scratch. Then, when I get back to Japan, I want to move people here with my live performances again." Where's the lameness? Basically some American fans took this quote COMPLETELY out of context (as usual) and assumed he would do Europe and overlook a America entirely and had internet temper tantrum over it. As I said before and I'll say it again Gackt or ANY international artist for that matter, cannot just hop-skip over the big pond and do a concert. That's is NOT how its done. It takes time, lots of planning and lots of money. International artists need financial backing from that country. That's why when Gackt did R&R II and had to cancel in Korea, the back up that he had there got cold feet at the last minute and he couldn't perform there, but you don't see the Koreans blaming him about that situation now do you?
As for touring here in the states, it's MUCH harder. The band touring needs visas and once again, a promoter to back them up, but unfortunately, the rule of thumb to US promoters is this, if you don't sing in English, you don't get promoted. This is pure fact. Here is a post basically answering why many Jrock or even International Artists in general have trouble getting into the states for a tour.

It's all about greed and that many of these so called promoters want to be pricks towards those who have a career outside of the US and want to sing in their native tongue in the States. If you look at Europe and Asia, these countries welcome our (so-called) singers with open arms. They will play our music over the radio and will jump at the chance to promote these people, yet we give their countrymen hell for trying to do the same thing all because they don't have a song in English. They will promote any carbon copy, robotic non-singing, can't dance worth shit wannabe in a heartbeat over international singers and dancers who have ACTUAL talent. That's purified bullshit and these bastards know it. If the masses don't like it they can turn the fucking station. But I digress.
My point is this, unless these "fans" have everything figured out and have all the money he can use for his and his staff's needs for this tour, those bitching need to take a chill pill, sit down, shut the fuck up and wait in line line like everyone else. Let the man scratch his balls and think in peace. Good day.
