For the music and instruments, is there a musical society, music library, or other public-good organization in this space where your stuff would actually be appreciated?
For the SCA stuff, I would designate a person (not an organization) who is willing to find good homes for things. In my will I made a specific designation for my most-expensive item of SCA stuff (my Pennsic house). Well, that's if I go second, obviously; otherwise my husband gets it (and everything else).
For the games, perhaps a gaming club, fan-run game con, or the like? Failing that, designate sale to a *gaming store* (to get a better price than "random place that buys stuff from estates)?
People say that libraries will take books, but I notice that my local library tends to have book sales for donated books; those books don't tend to end up on their shelves. YMMV. If significant parts of the collection are in particular areas, I'd look for other organizations, e.g. the local SF club for the SF&F books.
Naturally, all of this depends on how much work you want to do versus ask your executor to do. You don't have to designate this stuff in your will if your executor is willing to do this kind of leg-work (or follow out-of-will instructions, which are more flexible if, e.g., the con you designated has folded).
