Messed Up
“Harry - you do realise we’re related, don’t you?” Ginny asked, eyeing the ring being offered her.
“What?” yelped Harry.
“Yes - we’re third cousins.”
“How? What?”
“It’s on Sirius’ family tree,” blinked Ginny. “So it could possibly be seen as incest, what we’re doing.”
“INCEST?”
“Don’t worry about it,” she said kindly, closing her hands over his still outstretched ones and brushing the ring in the process. “It’s the done thing in the Wizarding World.”
“The - done -”
“Sirius’ parents were second cousins.”
“Second -!”
“And you’re second cousins once removed with Draco Malfoy.”
Harry had run out of words.
“Don’t panic, our children won’t be messed up,” she said brightly. Then she bit her lip. “Much.”
