First off, much LOVE for you, cos heeee, Otome fic! Takumi and Akira Otome fic! ^__^ That's awesome, and it definitely made my morning~~ ♥ ♥ ♥ I adore your Akira -- Takumi wasn't much of a presence in this story, but your Akira was dead on. (I kind of think it would be interesting to see this concept from Takumi's view too -- it really fits, cos it helps explain even more his anti-Otome mindset.)
And ohhh, it hurt when Akira was talking about wearing red -- that was a really nice touch to this story, cos it added that level of pain for Akira. I wonder if Takumi feels the same way (again with the anti-Otome bit), cos I think that would have cause for a lot of problems in the future (especially with all those marriage alliances being tossed around. ~_~) Anyway, I'm babbling -- this was a really good story, and I loved reading it! I really hope you write more~~
Wow... just wow. This was an incredibly well-done fic. At the moment, the last two sentences are still ringing in my head, so if I sound a little vague or off-kilter, it's because I'm actually very stunned by the quiet reverb your words gave off.
I like the way we walk with Akira through her and Takumi's life, and I like how her actions are indicitive of her feelings towards her charge/emperor/taisetsuna hito. The fact that she internally refers to her Otome vows as a 'wedding' speaks volumes of her bond to Takumi. It's both sad and beautiful, and so very Akira-like that it's scary. It's interesting that you make her one of the youngest Otome's to graduate, which again makes sense when you consider Akira's determination and protective heart; even from a young age, she goes above and beyond mere duty
