London violence

Isn't there something wrong with society if the excuse/reason for destruction and general criminal behaviour is that because gov't cut spending, they have nothing better to do?

1 - you have a brain, think of something, or does gov't need to plan (and pay for) how you live?
2 - gov't cut spending to tackle deficit, otherwise we'd be in a similar situation to the US, Italy, Greece, etc
3 - the rioters are not dmeonstrators - they have no cause and their aim is to cause as much destruction and steal as much as possible.

Since their actions are harming innocent civilians, why should the police have to not only fear the rioters, but also fear being taken to task for using excessive force? How much force is excessive when these people are smashing reinforced windows, attempting to break into ATMS, setting random strangers' property on fire...

Where did everything go wrong? Well, how about asking the parents of these young people how they taught their kids? Why is everything that goes wrong someone else's fault - do they have no conscious will?

To the man who said these young people were just hurt and crying out and gov't needed to invest in them - so it's excusable to steal, casue criminal damage and hurt others because no one's listening? Not only that, the gov't need to pour more money into these people who feel bored? How about they actually try to find a job instead of expecting everyone else to solve their problems for them and take a little responsibility for their own lives.

As to prison - how about making them do something that's actually constructive, so they actually feel like their supposed to be repenting, not enjoying a free lifestyle.
