Guess which of America's favorite televised social experiments is baaaack?!?
Yes, folks... Beauty & the Geek is back for more awkward social interaction than a baaad 8th-grade social.
But, this time, instead of pairing one-geek-&-one-beauty together (and forcing them to forge a friendly and personal bond), producers have decided to pit the Beauties against the Geeks.
*scratches head*
Anyhoo... last night's season premiere got underway swimmingly as the (somewhat) vapid Beauties and the (terrified) Nerds amiably got to know each other. Among the standouts:
Matt: a kindly poet geek w/ matching coke-bottle glasses.
Jim: a shy video-game programmer hiding under a shaggy hippie beard, circa' 1968.
Greg: a gay (Yes..., GAY) asian college nerd w/ little confidence and "no game."
Joe: a pudgy wannabe cowboy nut w/ an gentlemen-like streak.
And even the gorgeous Beauties seem surprisingly real (, or as real as a Playboy model can actually get), compassionate and open-minded. Unlike Season 2's blonde, bitchy man-eater-- Cecile-- the girls here seem genuinely interested in learning about as much from the Geeks as the Geeks are eager in learning from Girls. And, yes... a few of the guys could probably clean-up amazingly well once Makeover Day arrives.
(Thankfully, none of the Geeks are as HOT as my boy Scooter-- a Harvard Grad-- from Season 2!!)
