how do you post a link?

how do you post a story on lj? like with and link and stuff i want to finally post the first part of my story illusion and dream. any help would be great

When you copy/paste it into your post, put it under the lj cut (the little icon that looks like an ekg readout. if you want to put a link where you just have the title (for example) and you click it to go to the story somewhere else, like FF.net, then highlight the word you want to link and there is another icon that has a globe and an infinity sign over it, click this, then paste the link. you're good to go!

thats great i love the ekg comparison
but how do i put the story on a lj page (i have special fonts which wont show up on ff.net and alot of people have them in their journals how do i do that?

No worries. :) I'm assuming you have the story in word, yes? copy and paste it into your lj post like you would from one word doc to another. then select the whole thing and drag it into the gray box. PM me your email addy and I'll send you a word doc showing how to do it. :)

If you ignore richtext and edit under plaintext, it will be easier to set up your entry lay-outs the way you want, but you need to use html coding. The best way to find out what html codes you need to use is to play around with a privacy locked entry in richtext-adding colours, embolding words, changing font sizes, embedding media, etc.-then switch the entry over to plain text. The codes will be revealed there.
