War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength

so yeah, similarly to that "watch good movies that may challenge me" thing I'm doing, I've also decided do it with books. so today I finished reading 1984 by George Orwell. I read it in about three or four days. (which is fast for me) It was nuts. really good. very depressing, but for me almost uplifting too. After I finished reading I just kinda sat there for about 10 minutes letting it all sink in.

The middle third of the book, I felt, was amazing and an almost beautiful experience, and the last third of the book was utterly heartbreaking.

like, it makes me sad, what happened in the book. but also, it almost makes me feel happier about the "color" and sanity I have in my life. 2+2 will always make 4.(its a thing from the book) even if I like, rarely feel myself experiencing any real significant joy or satisfaction or excitement, it makes me want to go outside and talk to people and be joyful about life and living. like it makes me want to somehow assert my humanity and how I'm definitely not some defeated unfeeling automaton.

so yeah, that probably was a highlight of my week. : )
