Chapter 8
Jaejoong held on to his baby brother as the man in his arms stoned as still as a statue on the side of the bed. Tired of the crying, Junsu never spoke another word on their journey home and allowed himself to be handled by Jaejoong. The older man never saw this side of Junsu, not even when their father turned him away from the family and no, not even when Yoochun’s scandals were in the headlines of the morning paper. Junsu’s eyes were dilated, expressionless as he lay weakly on his brother’s chest while holding on tightly onto Jaejoong’s shirt. Jaejoong allowed Junsu to stay like that for a moment, smothering up and down the younger man’s back, touching the latter’s face and held him close enough to feel their heartbeats.
“Would you turn me away too, Hyung?” Junsu finally asked with a small tired strained voice.
“Would you be like appa and turn me away? Would you laugh at me because I was stupid? Would you?
Would you drive me away? Would you find me a nuisance? Would you…lie to me?” Junsu went on and on breathlessly, his small hands loosen their grip on the shirt and had heartrending smile on his face as he searched for an answer on his only brother’s face.
“No, I won’t. Junsu. I won’t” Jaejoong replied, cupping Junsu’s face in his hands.
“Really? ….Do you think the baby would hate me?” he asked again, barely audible this time. “Just like how everyone hates me.”
Jaejoong stunned at Junsu’s sudden words. He didn’t know how and what did Yoochun did to Junsu to break him this hard, to break him into so many pieces such that Jaejoong would not piece back his brother no more. The Junsu he knew, isn’t here today.
He didn’t reply immediately but instead, hold Junsu close again and whispered into the latter’s ears,.
“No, Junsu. You’ll have me, Yunho and your baby to love you till the end of time.”
“That’s what he said too, Hyung. That’s what he said too.”

Yoochun stayed up in his balcony, holding onto the cigarette that never left his fingers ever since he reached home and only to be reminded of the emptiness that greets him. Everything else was in place.
But-
There was no Junsu, still.
And no, Junsu didn’t need him as much as he thought him to be. Junsu didn’t want him, Junsu rejected him, Junsu denied him and Junsu couldn’t even bare his touch nor the sight of him.
Everything in this house reminded Yoochun of him. Him him him him.
It’s the clothes he never bothered to get the maids to throw out; it’s the ring he still sees every morning on the dining table just where Junsu left them; it’s the lingering moments he had of the latter where memories played right before his eyes and it’s the times he held the left behind cell phone and stared as he will it to ring.
His fingers trembled along with the cigarette as thoughts flashed through his mind as he leaned closer to the edge, overlooking at the night scenery. He wasn’t used to such. His heart wrenched as memories recollect themselves and replayed the scene of Junsu collapsed into the arms of Jaejoong as he muttered senselessly about not being Kim Junsu. He saw how frail the man still looked after days despite having his child.
It’s his bloody fault.
He took in a deep breathe of nicotine, drowned into the addicting effect of it and consenting to the permanent damage that it does to his body. Yoochun toyed carelessly with his ring in his hand over the edge, staring at the band that spoke a thousand promises that weren’t fulfilled, reminding of himself that he had wanted the rings to bound Junsu down subconsciously and it is the same band that warrant the twinkle in his fiancé’s eyes and the love that Kim Junsu gave to him, and him alone.
Yoochun sneered at the sudden thought that came through his mind, his heart tugged.
It was him that needed Junsu. It was him all along.
You can’t run away from me, Junsu.
You just can’t.

For days, Jaejoong watched his brother living each day like it was a torture. Junsu never answered the door in fear of it to be Park Yoochun, never answered any phone calls in fear of the same. His pregnancy status didn’t help as Junsu took mouthful of food forcefully for the sake of his baby. It was as though survival was only for his baby, eating was for his baby, he breathes for the baby and everything else he does is for the baby.
None for Junsu.
“Are you alright, Junsu?” Jaejoong asked in concern, touching his brother’s cheek which used to be rosy.
“I’m fine, Hyung.” He answered simply then went back to his book. He reads, he reads all kinds of books in relation to parenting. His only job now is just to raise the baby, the baby, the baby.
He would be the mother and the father to care for the baby.
And the baby was the only thing that kept his sanity. To keep himself from the meltdown he would have if he allowed himself to seep deeper, to keep himself from being as weak as he was when he was with Yoochun. He has got to be strong, for his baby.
“Then don’t keep cooping yourself with books all day long, Junsu-yah. You don’t even smile like you do before you know.”
The smiles he had, was meant for Yoochun. And now his reasons are not here anymore.
“Junsu-yah” he turned Junsu to face him.
“Let’s go to Busan for a little holiday shall we?”
“What?” he stared in disbelief. Jaejoong and him are going where…?
“Go pack, Junsu. We’re leaving the day after tomorrow.” He smiled at the confused man. Alas, another kind of expression coming out of Junsu than that unreadable he had on for days and days.
Anything for you, Junsu. Anything that could bring you back.

A while back
“Busan? Whatever for, Yunho? Why bring Junsu to Busan?” Jaejoong asked, obliviously confused by Yunho’s suggestion.
“Just because I want to send him away so that my Jaejoong-ie would get his duly deserved rest and quit fussing around his brother and focus on Jung Yunho instead?” Yunho joked, pulling Jaejoong nearer, away from the Kimchi Chigae that the latter is making.
“Ouch-Ow! I’m joking, baby. Joking!” Yunho retreated when Jaejoong shoved him in the stomach and glared at him. “I know he’s your baby brother and all that. I know, honey. I know.”
“But why Busan anyway, Yunho?” the man probed further knowing fully that Yunho rarely suggest things that wouldn’t work out.
“Eunhyuk runs a kindergarten there.”
“Hmm?”
“So I kind of pulled some strings and made him agreed into taking in our Junsu to be a teacher at the kindergarten.”
“Junsu can work in Seoul. It’d be better if I were to be situated near him. He’s-He’s just in no ability to be alone. Why…Busan?” Now Yunho got the full attention of his pregnant lover while Jaejoong puts down the spatula and questioned.
“Away from Seoul. Away from Yoochun. It’d be better for Junsu to get away for a bit. Isn’t it?” Yunho tries to convince the skeptical Jaejoong. The last time Jaejoong ever let Junsu go was to Park Yoochun and he came back a total wreck. He never wanted that to happen ever again.
“Come on, honey. You can’t keep Junsu by your side, sheltering him from all kinds of weather.” He went on, reasoning it out with Jaejoong. He knew how Jaejoong has always been a protective brother, shielding his little brother from all kinds of things, picking up and cleaning up the mess that gets left behind.
“I know…But-but he’s…” He sighed.
“We can at least try, can’t we?” urged Yunho who went around Jaejoong who was deep in his running thoughts. The hungry man picked up a spoon and gladly stole a mouthful of that delicious soup.
“I guess…we can.”
