Awesome Episode and Review! galistar07 April 25 2011, 06:15:12 UTC
I really liked this episode a lot and it's probably one of my most favorites in the series(after "Girl Trouble"), and I really enjoyed reading your review about it. Because I'm somewhat of a film freak, I enjoyed some of the "movie parodies" in this episode and I love it when you pointed them out in your review.
I thought that this episode rocks so much that I can't tell whether I like because I love Anodyte characters in this series (yes, that includes bratty Cousin Sunny) and bias about it, or just the fact that this episode does have a lot of meaning to Max and Verdona's start-out love adventure. Because Max hinted that how he met Verdona again is a story for another time, I'm hoping to see more.
Anyway, I thought that this episode was really good from beginning to the end and I really think that your review did it some justice...as always.
Good luck with your other writing projects.

To be perfectly honest, I haven't seen most of the movies I manage to pick out the pop culture references to, like Terminator and Full Metal Jacket. I usually just know them through pop cultural osmosis or because my dad and brother like them. The closest I've come to actually watching any of the Terminator movies is being a fan of Power Rangers RPM.

I love Grandpa Max, and I'd been waiting to see his glory days as a Plumber for a long time. So I was very happy to see that he was a born and bred badass, just the way I'd always imagined him.

Most of these films that you've mentioned in the review, such as Terminator, are the ones that I haven't seen in years but I can only remembered the vague parts. I supposed that you don't have to be a film geek to make some really nice movie parody references in your reviews.

I like Grandpa Max, too. Ever since they introduced Verdona as Tennyson cousins' paternal grandmother, I had always wondered how the couple met. And boy, did this episode deliver!

P.S. I love it when young Max Tennyson tricked "Mr. Terminator" into blowing up the truck and he drove his car through the flame. That has got to be one of the most kick-ass Max Tennyson's action scenes I've ever seen.

Well, of course. Grandpa Max could beat up Chuck Norris. That's how badass he is.
