Well.
That only took almost ten years.
And it's sure ONE way to get the Royal Wedding off the news.
Jokes aside, in all honesty, I'm not really sure what to say about this. I find it satisfyingly ironic that this happened during Obama's run, when Bush's entire eight years was dedicated to the "war on terror" (which we lost SPECTACULARLY, by the way), and he never accomplished it. At least he avenged his daddy's loss with Saddam, though, right? Right, guys??
So, bin Laden is dead. My thoughts are with all those who suffered from the 9/11 attacks, and from everything those attacks prompted. While I won't celebrate his death, as it doesn't feel quite right to me to truly celebrate over the death of anyone, I will acknowledge it and reflect on it, and what it means. It is a feeling of accomplishment for the country and all those soldiers currently at war, and it is a sense of closure for every family that was affected by the events of that day, nearly ten years ago. It is for those things that I am grateful, and that I will celebrate.
But what will this mean for the future? Retaliation is my concern, now. Only time will tell.
