My head hurts because what is happening in one of my fandom. Can it still be call my fandom if I don`t really follow the group`s news and activities anymore? That I loose track of what dramas they are filming or what songs they may release in the future or already releases?
The more you get into fandoms they more negativities you get out of it. The positivities can`t compensate for them. For the last 2 years, I have shy away from reading non-official news that are not related to the singers' or bands' or groups's official activities that they themselves announce or appear in. Most of the time, I try not to let myself see images which are captured by papparazi and obessessive stalkers (which should not be called normal fans) and are then sold to media outlets or share online to normal fans. I`m not an innocent bystander in the grand scheme of thing. By partaking in reading and seeing these stalkerish news and images, I`m participating and continuing in the exploitive culture where our self-entitlements think it's okay to treat other as objects because they make more money than us and are famous - regardless how much they may suffer in private due to this exploitive culture.
Do you treat symptoms by throwing remedies at them or do you find out what causes these symptoms so that you can treat the root of the problems?????? What if the exploitive culture ignore the root of the problem and only look at the symptoms?
ranting,
fandom? what is that?,
