Hello.
Greetings.
Testing, testing, one... two... three...
To update on the past 8 months: (In no particular order)
What have I done? Immediate reaction is 'not alot'. But i think that may be the answer to 'what am I doing' rather than past tense. So... i'll start typing and see how long it takes me to stop. Sounds like a plan, Stan...
- Prague avec ma mere - very nice, Gershwin concert, Blacklight Theatre, shopping, Canal cruise, walking through only intact pre-WWII Jewish Quarter, visiting the Synagogues and Churches, Franz Kafka Museum, Alphonse Mucha Gallery, drinking muchos coffee in the old quarter. Very nice. (Even if Mum does snore - i can prove it, took recording of her with mobile...)
- Exams (x2, distinction in English second semester :-))
- Got work placement with Bloomsbury for Sept '07
- Started planning for Production of 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie', to be shown March '07 (I'm directing, Sarah Burden producing)
- Continued dating Peter... (can't imagine why :p)
- Went to Dublin at the end of May with Peter, as a combined end of exams/End of Uni (for him)/12 months celebration. Admired the Spike (spire), walked round Temple Bar area, 'did' the Guiness Factory (i skipped the samples at the end), caught an open bus tour, briefly ventured into the shopping precinct, saw the Book of Kells, had lunch in Trinity College grounds, went to the Samuel Beckett exhibition in Trinity Library, walked in St Stehen's Green, and took lots of silly photos before catching ryanair flight home. Not bad for 26 hours hostelling... and good fun. :-)
- Peter's Graduation, end of June - whirlwind of a week, but really good. Graduation Ball lovely, more 'relaxed' than any other ball I've been to, while still having a good atmosphere.
- Going to Barcelona for 5 days with the girls (Mercedes, Sarah R, Lizzie and myself) for 5 days, via 'Cedes' humble abode in Cambridge (roll on September!)
- Jamie went to Orkney with TTW, and had a ball.
- Davina is moving into Housie as Jenn is going offski to Russia for a year. Gonna be a crazy house - with a Mercedes, a Vinachi and a Hannie, cannot expect much sanity me thinks.
- Visted Larne, NI with Peter, staying with his family (i had 3 days off work in a row, shock horror!)
- Oh yes - how could i forget?! Working an average of 5 days/40 hours a week, from June till Sept, as a waitress, kitchen staff and general dogsbody at Dobbies Garden Centre Plc., Ayr. It's what all the cool cats do... really it is. (8 shifts left, than i'm FREE!!! :-))
- Hmm... what else... Peter got offered two jobs, one with BAE ystems down in Farnborough, the other with Graham Technology, which is based in Glasgow. He accepted offer from the latter, went through 2 weeks of training, and enjoyed it. Flat lease started yesterday; he received his project assignment Friday past. He flies out to Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday, due back sometime in December, possibly earlier, possibly later. Bit of a shock after only working there three weeks!! But it'll be cool - he's looking forward to it. I, on the other hand, am jealous, and find the distance disconcerting. But hey - gives me an opportunity to visit Joburg. I guess that's got to be good... Yes? And I've swapped shifts so I have this w/e off to get to see him and drop off at the airport. Could be worse...
- Due to the latter, have purchased Webcams. Hannah has new toy!
- Met up with Laura N during Easter break/her JSA, spent some time in Ayr before heading back up to Uni.
Hmm... yeah, i think tht covers most things. All tht i can think of for now, anyway. Doesn't make for very interesting reading perhaps, but a host of good memories for Hannah. :-)
See you in half a year or so!
H
