An Idea is always fun until someone gets hurt....this is crazier than most

I'm not one of those people who likes to post a lot about themselves on a journal that everyone can read. It's just my personality. I never say more than I have to and I tend to feel silly in writing journals because it feels like I'm talking to myself, which always seemed redundant to me ( Read more... )

It's normal not to write so much about ourselves. I got used to tht nd nowadays I write sometimes as a blog.
I also use to shre things trought the lj.. It's a very good thing..^^ and people appreciate so much that.
wow.. amazing that you're a writer.. congrats... and it's normal to be severe about critics, mainly because you're writer and about ourselves we do critisize a lot.

I agree with sagkure that vk doujinshis are quite rare even in japan.
As You checked DA, I think tht printing is not a good idea becuse you can suffer some problms bout copyright tht I suffered some time go with a little story that I created and a person sold my story and one day it became a famous online manga and I didn't like the idea becuse it was mine first. So, What I can recomend to you is the following: leave vilble just sample of the cover in kind of website and sell the finished product for the ones who will get interested in (like me for exmple =p) and include everything on the price (shipping, printing expenses... everything)

and go on...
if you need some support, I can help with what I know..^^

I wasn't at all surprised that doujins are rare for this series. It's one of the more detailed and its shoujo...so, it's not likely to get a lot of people who are willing to spend that much time and money putting them out. Between that and there's not much incentive to put one out when someone will turn around and sell it for a profit on ebay. Pirating is everywhere...unfortunately.

I do have a few tricks up my sleeve as far as preventing unnecessary printings. And I was open to professionally printing it if enough people were willing to buy it, but the higher quality the print job is the more it will cost. One of the fun parts about having been trained on a serial publication is that I got to hear how much it costs when it comes to size and color and paper and shipping...so, yeah, it's an option, but it's a big maybe.

I think what a lot of people tend to be worried about with something like this is that I'll let my pairing or character bias get in the way...or at least, I thought they might. Unfortunately I'm not that way when I'm in editing mode. The editor in me tends to go with whatever is good, despite what the writer and fan in me enjoys most.

Thanks for your comment. It's nice to know that someone will be interested in such an option if I decide to make a go of it.
