Those small, seemingly insignificant things...

May 12, 2005 03:04

My computer got formatted recently. I was kind of... calm at first, since I knew I burned a back-up copy of all my files, and my vast collection of mp3s were saved in another hard disk. Panic came a day after, when my lovely dad announced that he formatted said hard disk as well. I was able to salvage some of my files, most of which were old, but the mp3s were... ;_;. So, yeah. Mp3 files collected over years disappeared in an instant.

*wails*

Dad concluded that a virus (acquired from the Interenet, where else) caused our drive to crash. Damn that virus! It seems almost impossible on how such a small, somewhat insignificant thing could destroy a whole computer. @_@

Lesson of the day: Burn more back-up copies daily. Never kick your PC when it hangs.

Darn it. T.T

Anyway, we went to check out some schools today. I haven't been enrolled yet, and I suspect I won't be anytime soon, due to financial troubles. Dad is considering that I transfer to a public school (which is so unacceptable!), but I thought over it for a while and concluded that it was better than skipping a year of school.

Funny how things turn out. Last year, I wasn't even thinking of transfering schools. And public schools seemed so... far away at that time. Hmn... life's like a wheel, as they say.

So, we were checking out some of the schools neer our residence. On the way to the first one, we kind of got stuck between a fight - one involving some fraternity group (or so dad said) and fishball vendor guy. It all started with someone throwing a huge rock at someone, and then someone bled. The fishball vendor got irritated, I suppose, so he brought out a gun. That part really scared me, I though he was going to shoot all over tha place. Things happened really fast, so I wasn't able to take note of some of the other happenings. Luckily, though, some policemen came after a few minutes.

Ah, I'm boring you now, aren't I? Let's leave it at that, then.

ryuuen_kurai Has come back! Go read her new Ban/Kazu fic! *rejoices*

Question: is there a yaoi con this May? I've heard some rumours, though I'm not sure if those are true. Can anyone please verify this..? @_@
