Another week begins...

Though I really can't tell, as I technically have no week beginning, or weekend for that matter. Staying at home with the baby means that I work 24/7/365, with only about 8 hours out of the house and not on 'baby duty' a week. Granted, it has been moderately worse the past 2 weeks, as C has had crazy time at work with jobs ending and things to do with other people leaving and dumping their workload on others. Most evenings and weekends lately have seen me pulling 'single mother' duty. You all have my sympathy.

As promised, I was bad Friday night, carb-wise. But in my defense, the only sides they had at the banquet were corn and creamy potato stuff, and salad. But the chicken chesapeake was good, and not overly breaded, and I did stay away from the dinner rolls. However, I made up for it at the after-party at the Green Turtle, where I had pretzels with crab dip, and an amaretto and pineapple juice. I also had ahi tuna, but that is carb friendly, so I feel ok with that.

Saturday at ACL practice I was slightly better, though I did have a sandwich. I managed to pawn the blueberries off on all the other people there, so they are now out of the house, and shared my apple stash so now I have no more apples in the house to temp me. Dinner was another 'cheat' of chicken parm and pasta, though again I stayed away from the bread, and even managed to not steal pieces of the baby's chicken fingers. I tried to get a chai from Suxbux, but could not manage to find a drive-thru one on my route, so I was saved that extra bit.

Yesterday I think I did much better, though my drink choices could have been better. To my absolute delight, the chicken wings at Foster's Grille are low-carb! Only 1g of carb for a basket of wings. This makes me deliriously happy. I was quite full on a meal of 10 wings and a side salad. Better dressing choices are needed, but I'll take what I can get. Dinner was broken up turkey burger on a salad with pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Also quite filling, but I am finding that an hour later I am hungry again. I drink water, but I am still hungry, so I am at a loss as to what is causing this. With luck, as I switch over to a more ketogenic metabolism, this will stop.

To my surprise, this morning the scale showed me down 4 pounds. I suspect mostly water weight, as I don't feel that clothes are fitting any better (though that may be due to hormonal water retention), but at this point, I will take what I can get.
