I have to agree. I found their death incredibly sad but I would have much rather seen them go out a different way. One where they were fighting to the death. It was noble, but I agree not really what I would have wanted. And I agree, as much as I love spn and the brothers, they tend not to show women in the best light. It is very much a man's show.
Oh and I went with trying to get Castiel drunk, because I thought it was hilarious. But I also like Jo turning Dean down.
I cried my way through their final scene, but in the end I'm disappointed with the execution. I wonder sometimes if the writers know just how much it is a man's show; they can't be totally blind to it, or I'd hope not anyway.
The Cas and alcohol scene was this delightful little moment that someone should be patted on the back for dreaming up.
And something to please finally address the fact that Bobby's house seems unchanged despite his disability. Accessibility: it's not just magic.
This has been bugging me every time there's a scene with Bobby.
I try so hard to ignore the lack of female characters that don't die in Supernatural but it's difficult. It saddens me so much! I miss Jo, Bela, Anna, Pam... etc. It's so irritating.
This has been bugging me every time there's a scene with Bobby. Also things like, how did he load his wheelchair in and out of the truck when he drove down to the boys in "The Curious Case of Dean Winchester". And when did they make the truck accessible?
I'm really glad we got to see Bobby struggle with disability (mine is acquired it took me years to stop asking "Why me?") and I'm glad there's been no quick fix, but so many unanswered questions!
I'm still quietly hoping that we'll have Anna back. Clearly, writing will have to be done. And do you know girl_doctor? So far my favourite fanon permutation of a female Doctor, even if the community is fairly inactive now. (Bonus points for being a femslashy canon!)
