Happy New Year to all of my friends and family!!! And there is no better way to start off 2011 than by watching a wasted DA DJ his way through Sequence Virus countdown!! Seriously. It was amazing. Daichan played A TON of access including all the faves: Doubt & Trust, SOUL DYNAMITE, and Higher Than Dark Sky; he even played the original version of Misty Heartbreak! He of course played Metaverse and did some more Gundam remixes, which were epic but unfamiliar to me mostly, and some random songs like "Reason" by Tamaki Nami (not complaining, that's a great song). He got pretty drunk on champagne and proceeded to troll us all with his old house-genre faves about 2 hours into it, playing Pet Shop Boys, Sugar and the Honey Tones, which was kinda.....lame. But it all got better of course. The real KICKER was at the end when he played the live version of the DA's PARTY '99-'00 song that had Rin, Ken, Takanori, and Kinya all singing and playing in it! IT SEEMS THIS MAN CAN FORGIVE AFTER ALL. Then they turned on the Nico Video comments on a screen and DA sat back to watch them, while we (Kieda, Lala, me, and everyone else) spammed the HELL out of it with English "WE LOVE YOU"s and "PLEASE COME VISIT AMERICA" and etc. I never saw any of my comments flash on the screen but it was kinda hard to tell because they moved so fast. I'm sure he saw at least one of ours. Towards the end of the live DA also played the Japanese version of "Auld Lang Syne" (of which I had no idea existed...LOL) and formally wished everyone a happy new year. The turning of the year is HUGE in Japan, so Daichan made a nod to that tradition with that folk song.
Nico people were all like "Call Hiro!" at the end and the audience was all for it (as were we), but he chickened out. "He's probably asleep" yeah right Daichan. :/ That would have been fun. He also mentioned how he was getting older in relation to the new year's passing. He was like "I'm already 43..." and Nico people started teasing him by calling him an old man. It was HILARIOUS cause Daichan got all mock-offended and made everyone apologize. So then there was a flood of "gomen nasai"s.
Drunk and Giddy. 8D
And also, because of this event, Daichan is now known forthwith as either "Usakura" (うさ倉) because he was wearing bunny ears for part of the live ("Usagi" means "rabbit"), or "Bakakura" because he was a lame idiot and played boring house music for like 20 minutes or so. Credit goes to the genius mass that resides in Nico Nico ("Baka"means, "fool" or "idiot").
In other news, this is the CUTEST thing I've seen in a LONG while XD
Seriously. Life is GOOD with DA Family.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
