The KAT-TUN Room:
tinyangl, 946 words
Note: In which I attempt to write KAT-TUN. In which I essentially fail. And in which Tegoshi reveals a fear for the KAT-TUN room. (In which I seem never able to hit that 1000 words. LOL.)
Maki doesn't understand why NewS thinks it's a dare for her to go to the KAT-TUN dressing room. They're another band in the same company so why was this so dangerous? She opens the door only to duck as soon as she does as a chair flies over her head. She squeaks and inside, the rustle and bustle inside the room comes to a noticeable silence and Maki's half huddled in a fetal position, her arms clutching her legs close to her chest.
"Maki-chan?" Jin asks, his voice filled with confusion and Maki looks up in relief to see the male hovering over her. "Oh, good. It is you." He lets out a sigh and Maki throws him a confused look which prompts him to add on, "Last time Tegoshi was here..." His voice trails off before he shakes his head, "Never mind. It's nothing important." He reaches out a hand to help her up and she takes it, her legs still a little wobbly. "What are you doing over here?"
She coughs, trying to remember the excuse she came up with when suddenly the rest of KAT-TUN walk up from behind Jin and Maki blanks as they stare at her curiously. She's used to NewS, that's pretty much a given by now, but KAT-TUN's new territory and she's not entirely sure how she should act around them.
"Ah! Are you lost, Horikita-san?" Nakamaru asks, a little concerned.
Maki shakes her head when her eye catches Kame. She's suddenly reminded of the times they talked during Nobuta.
"Come to visit?" Kame asks, his usual smile.
Jin grins, thrusting his chest forward. "To visit me, of course!" Maki giggles behind her hand, still a little unsure so she decides that she'll just try to stay nonchalant for now.
Koki snorts, "In your dreams, Akanishi. If she wanted to see anyone, it'd be Normal Maru." Nakamaru sputters for the addition of "Normal" before he pauses to think about what Koki just said. Before Nakamaru can get a word in, Koki adds in. "Well, in his dreams too though." Nakamaru throws Koki a dirty glare, but Koki ignores it all. (Maki doesn't and she tries hard to keep her giggles from erupting to hard laughs.)
She suddenly feels a hand on her arm and she follows the arm to find that it's Ueda, trying to pull her out of the room. "Trust me," he mutters, "It's safer for your sanity if you don't stay here for too long." Maki hears the protests of the other members and she can't help but start laughing.
"I don't know about that," Maki starts. "I think you're all pretty sane." It's the last thing she says before Taguchi decides that as a good-bye to use his "Ireguchi, Deguchi, Taguchi" joke. Maki stares as Koki kicks him a little haphazardly, aiming a little lower than usual. Taguchi's smile doesn't even falter and Maki wonders if maybe Ueda's right. She hears Ueda sigh, shaking his head.
"Sure you don't want to take those words back?" Ueda asks and Maki has to resist from saying something cheeky. (She's been around Ryo for too long.)
"I think I'll be fine. Thanks for the warning though," she says, grinning at him. Ueda has to shake his head, and he walks away, mumbling to himself that anyone that was associated with NewS was just bad news. (No pun intended, of course.)
Maki walks away, objects being thrown at each other starts up again and she has to remind herself that KAT-TUN has as much member ai as NewS does. They just show it in different ways. (Or so she tries to convince herself anyway.)
Omake:
"So?!" Tegoshi asks excitedly, his eyes sparkling.
Maki steps back, her head half bent back in order to keep the space between them a little more managable. "It was okay," Maki says, sounding nonchalant about the whole thing.
"Told you it was a bad dare," Ryo snaps and Tegoshi throws him a pout that has Ryo talking back his own words.
"I don't understand why it was a dare, Tegoshi. It's just visiting their room." Maki asks, sitting down on the couch, settling in between Ryo and Yamapi. (She ignores Ryo's smirk beside her and the feel of Yamapi pressed against her side.)
Tegoshi sighs, sitting back down on the couch beside theirs, a frown on his lips. "It's just that..." He pauses before continuing, "The last time I visited, they kinda.."
Maki's a little more than curious to hear this and so she prompts him, "And?"
Tegoshi fiddles with the straw of his drink, looking awkward at best. "It's just that..." His face turns red and Maki really wonders what could've prompted this reaction. "They're really clingy!" Tegoshi cries, turning so that he's sobbing into Massu's shoulder who pats him on the head while eating a donut in his free hand.
Maki has to resist hard to not burst out laughing then and there (Maki's sure Tegoshi wouldn't appreciate it). Beside her, she can hear Ryo snorting. "This coming from you? That's original." Maki has to bite at her lip to stop herself and she throws Ryo an amused look which causes Ryo to grin wider.
Tegoshi sniffles, "What was that, Ryo-tan?"
Ryo shakes his head, smiling at the younger boy. "Nothing, nothing." Maki has to giggle again as Tegoshi nods.
"So yeah... I don't like visiting that room anymore." Maki makes a mental note to make him go there again.
Omake 2:
Maki looks around the room, noting for the first time the missing members. "By the way, where's Koyama and Shige?"
"Ah," Ryo starts, glancing at his watch and then looking up at the closet, "Time's up. Someone should let them out of the closet." Maki resists from laughing hard.
