The Drama... Nights:
tinyangl, 1111 words
Note: In which it has been ages since I've written Tegomassuki and so, this may fail just a little. In which Tegoshi, Massu, and Maki have "drama" nights and Tegoshi goes a little far when he insists that drama world transcends to reality. In which Yamapi has to suffer for such things. In which Yamapi may actually win.
(Side) Note: In which I wrote this for
cynicalism as one of my holiday fics. :D Some things never change.
Tegoshi calls them "Drama nights." Massu thinks it's just Tegoshi's way of watching Yamapi dramas, fangirling over them and get away with it without looking too weird. Maki laughs at Massu's comments before breaking it to him that he's just as bad as Tegoshi is. Massu shrugs nonchalantly, but there's a flush on his cheeks nonetheless.
"Come onnnnn," Tegoshi whines as he holds up the DVD with the drama he really wants to see.
Maki flushes and shakes her head furiously. "We've seen that twice already! The same episode, four times. Why oh why do you wanna watch it again?"
Tegoshi grins brightly. "It's my favorite!" He plops in the DVD without any other words, but the other two on the couch don't make a move to stop him - not like they could anyway. Maki shields the screen with a pillow, but Massu, who's beside her, forces her to put it down and watch Kurosagi with them. She resists from whining, although that's what she wants to do as she watches herself on the television - a little younger and a little less mature. Maki sighs as she settles into the couch, pulling her legs in and wrapping her arms around them. Her gaze falls onto her fellow members and she has to sigh; their attention is completely taken by the drama in front of them. If it makes them happy, Maki thinks, she'll let them watch it, no matter how embarrassing it is for her.

The next day, Maki instantly regrets the decision as Tegoshi and Massu (although, more Tegoshi than Massu who's just pulled along because it is Tegoshi) keeps her away from Yamapi all day, without letting the older male know exactly what was going on. "Guys!" Maki scolds after Tegoshi hangs up on Yamapi's phone call with a "We're in the middle of rehearsal, Yamashita-kun. You're disturbing it."
"He hurt you," Tegoshi sniffs and Maki sighs. Their hearts are in the right place, but quite frankly, her life is nowhere near Kurosagi.
"It was a drama," Maki emphasizes. "I was acting. It was a scene. Yamashita-kun was acting." She sighs.
"You didn't cry, did you?" Tegoshi asks, completely ignoring Maki's previous statement.
Maki groans, glancing over at Massu for some help. He shrugs and she glares - lots of help Massu would give her. "I had to cry. That was part of the scene!" She groans, as she mumbles, "Fourth time with this."
The phone rings again and this time, Maki's able to pry her cell out of Tegoshi's hand and answer it before the person on the other hand hangs up. "He watched Kurosagi again, didn't he?" Yamapi's exasperated voice asks.
Maki has to snicker. After the first time, Yamapi'd just been pissed at her band mates for an entire day - completely misunderstanding why Tegoshi and Massu had been adamant about keeping her away. The second time, he'd caught on a little faster, which, in Yamapi terms, meant he caught on halfway through the work day. The third time though, Yamapi'd just given up entirely on convincing Tegoshi and Massu that it had not been real at all - opting more for just letting the day go by and have them back to normal the next day. The fourth time was the worse though, because the effects of watching Kurosagi lasted not one day, not two days, but an entire week. Yamapi had been very happy to see her at the end of that week (when Maki'd finally been able to sneak away from her band mates' very, very attentive eyes).
"Yeah, he did," Maki says, trying very hard to ignore the glares coming from her friends.
"Same place as before?" Yamapi asks.
"Yeah," Maki responds before shutting her phone. She turns around and sighs, "Okay, you guys have to stop glaring at me like that!"
"But he's the enemy," Tegoshi insists, throwing a look at Massu.
Massu stutters through a "What he said" which causes Maki to roll her eyes.
She grumbles before heading out the door. "I'm going to the bathroom, and neither of you should follow me."
Tegoshi pouts innocently. "I would never."
Maki's eyes narrow. "After that third time, I wouldn't be surprised."
"Well, Yamashita-kun was going to follow you inside!" Tegoshi exclaims just as the door shuts.
Inside, Maki can hear Massu's muffled response of "I don't think she'd mind."

"I can't believe we have to use a closet just to talk to each other," Maki grumbles.
Yamapi laughs in her ear. "I don't know. It's kinda... hot."
Maki rolls her eyes. "Only you'd find covert meetings in storage closets to be hot." She relaxes in his arms though, trying to remember the last time she'd been able to. "As crazy as Tegoshi and Massu are for this whole thing, they always make my meetings with you afterwards all the more..." She pauses, searching for the right word.
"More appreciated?" Yamapi interjects.
"Hmm," Maki muses, before she starts swaying to the faint strains of music outside the door. Yamapi chuckles before swaying along with her.
"How long do you think it'll last this time?" He asks.
She shrugs, before sighing. "No idea whatsoever. Hopefully not a week." Yamapi's grip on her waist tightens just a touch and Maki chuckles. "Don't worry, even if it was, I'd protect you from the bad bad Tegomass."
Yamapi snorts, "Ye of little faith."
Maki pulls back before smirking. "You act so tough, but you really can't last too long without me."
The look on Yamapi's face drops and Maki's a little startled by how quickly he turns serious. "I don't think I could last long at all. You've really changed my life around."
"As Akanishi's told me repeatedly," Maki interjects, trying to calm her rapidly beating heart the best way she could.
"I love you," Yamapi finally says.
Maki freezes - her breath catches and her heart skips a beat as she stares up at Yamapi. "You... what?"
Yamapi moves to speak, but the door to the closet gets thrown open and Maki jumps out of Yamapi's grasp in surprise.
"There you are!" Tegoshi's voice interjects, a little peeved. "We've been looking for you!" Tegoshi's hand wraps around her arm, and Maki giggles nervously into the faces of her best friends.
"Just give me a moment," she insists, tugging out of Tegoshi's hold.
"But-" Tegoshi starts, but Massu's hand on his arm stops him short. Maki turns around to face Yamapi before throwing her arms around him and hugging him tightly, murmuring into his ear. She pulls back, grinning wildly before following Tegomass out the door. Yamapi's still standing there when she sneaks a peak back, looking a little stunned.
"What'd you tell him?" Tegoshi asks suspiciously.
"Nothing," Maki tells him, a flush spreading through her cheeks. "Absolutely nothing."
I love you, too.
