I don't get it.

What happened to the days when cooking dinner together and going to Borders for coffee was enough? When did morality become a theoretical construct of society instead of an underpinning of humanity? When did we stop being the kids who went out for milkshakes after cotillion (and track practice, and also track meets, and also movies) and took pictures of deer decoys strategically positioned on the median of 150? When did we stop riding on the spoiler through the Taco Bell drive through and start finding ourselves bored without drugs (this includes caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, prescription medication, and otherwise)? When did we stop having a little too much energy and start medicating ourselves for our neuroticisms? What's remotely intelligent about that? And as for love - do what you want. But seriously, when did we forget what that's supposed to be? Fuck random hookups, fuck cheating, fuck three-ways, fuck "drunken experimentation." Focusing on the love of one person and enjoying that - sans the above-listed pathetic excuses for time-filling activities - is what life is about. And friendship, real friendship, is of no less importance. A true sense of understanding between two people, regardless of context or topic - is much more important than temporal or geographical boundaries as well as whatever they're "into" at a given time. Maybe college is about experience. Maybe I'm just too fucking human for college. As for now I'm going to pick up one of my best, most wonderful, and for now most drunken friends so he doesn't have to walk on the side of the road. peace kids i love you no matter what
