narutohs A yawn slipped from his lips ever so gently to be caught in the palm of his hand. It was getting late. His eyes were droopier than usual and he was getting no where with the cut and shaped pieces of wood laid before him. He placed his hands on the table and immediately cursed himself when he encountered the project glue that had spilled. Sighing, he let his hands fall from the table and he ambled over to the sink where he proceeded to wash the gunk and grime from his hands.
There was a barely audible knock at the studio door, as a slim shaped figured slipped from the shadows of the outside corridor and into the lighted room. Sasori didn’t seem to notice, his mind preoccupied with cleaning his work space so he could go home for the night. Since he’d been sick he was left with several make-up projects that were due that weekend. He shook his head and sighed, reaching for an already dirty and torn rag that was resting across the work lamp.
Turning back to finish scrubbing up the spilt glue, Sasori suddenly found a pair of arms gently reaching around his waist and constricting into a tight embrace. His body tensed with surprise and then almost immediately relaxed. No words were needed as he slowly turned around to meet sparkling green eyes, the frosty pink hair, and a very mischievous and accomplished grin.
“It’s not good to sneak up on someone who’s half asleep,” he said trying to sound like he was upset with her but failing miserably as a smile crept across his lips.
A look of mock hurt covered her face. “You’re not happy to see me, ‘Sori-chan?” She used the disliked nickname knowing she could get away with it.
Sasori couldn’t help but yawn and smile sleepily at her as he grabbed his back pack off the studio floor and hoisted it onto his shoulder. He paused long enough to caress the side of her face and brush her hair behind her ear. “Let’s go back to the fraternity,” he said deliberately not answering her question.
Sakura made a face at his remark and ran after him as he walked toward the door. She made a grab for his hand, caught it and tightened her grip enough to make him stop. He looked down at her and her hand. “How about my place instead,” she said coyly, swaying a little from side to side.
He raised an eyebrow and a smirk curled on his lip. “As long as I can get some sleep, I suppose it doesn’t matter where I go,” he yawned and held a hand over his mouth. “I suppose that’ll be fine.” He didn’t let go of Sakura’s hand as the proceeded out into the dark hallway.
“Oh, you’ll get to sleep alright,” Sakura said with a slight giggle in her voice as they faded down the hallway into the darkness.
