So I bought Issue 1 of Sandman: Overture yesterday...
...It was amazing.
There was some really beautiful imagery here: the double-page spread where each panel is one of The Corinthian’s teeth, the page where each panel is shaped like a letter in Morpheus’s name, and of course the climactic scene of the various incarnations of Dream.
On top of that, the plot captured my interest immediately. What is it that has caused Dream to fracture into one incarnation for each sapient species? Who or what killed the incarnation of Dream that we saw at the beginning of the story?
I’m really enjoying this so far and looking forward to the later issues.
