Every now and again I have one of those days that proves to me exactly how much I could really be doing with my life if I just put my nose to the grindstone and did what had to be done.
Today is one of those days.
For example, if I had been as productive all week as I have been today, I could have done 28 loads of laundry already. If I had 28 loads of laundry to do. Which I don't. Thank god.
Today I got up early and went straight to the clinic to pick up my prescription. They didn't get the message that was supposed to be left for them and said I would have to wait 2 hours to be seen. I said that didn't work for me. Apparently all my practice at being menacing has really paid off because a half hour later I was walking out with everything I needed. (whew) And actually, I played nice. I didn't even tell them that I was going to hurl them into next week.
Then I got a bagel and drove home the long way. Looked at the ocean and listened to music.
Started load of laundry #1, drafted an email in response to a guy who is a fairly successful comic book illustrator (and who is giving me awesome tips on getting the GN out into the world). Then I did my taxes and filed them electronically. Looks like I'm actually getting pretty decent money back. Put laundry #1 into dryer, started load #2.
Decided it was cold, wanted to start a fire in the wood stove...full of ash. Cleaned out fireplace, started fire. I am the best girlscout ever.
Then I hand washed all my sweaters and fancy schtuffs. Yay for Woolite.
As most of y'all know, my car got broken into about a week ago, and I have been carting around a bunch of mini glass cubes in my back seat ever since (because my roommate dismantled the vacuum and has not yet re-mantled it). So I cleaned out my entire car and vacuumed out all the bits of pointy. While I was at it, I vacuumed out all the other bits too.
Folded laundry #1, dried laundry #2, started #3.
And now it's about 2:30pm. On a regular day off, I'd probably still be in my pajamas. *coughSQUISHYcough* I might even be reading trashy vampire novels and eating cereal.
No, maybe not that.
Anyway, having pretty much done all I can for today, I am going to take a bath, watch some trashy TV, and eat ice cream. Booyah.
